The Story Behind the Spaces
Our journey began with a simple desire: to escape the relentless hustle of Bangalore, to find solace away from the city’s chaos, and to reconnect with nature’s stillness. We longed for a place where we could pause, breathe, and just be. This led us to discover the magical Avalahalli Forest, a hidden gem that quickly became our haven.
House of Ikigai was our first creation, inspired by the Japanese concept of finding purpose and meaning in life.
What started as a humble powder room, a pit stop after long treks in the forest, soon evolved into something much more profound. We realized that this space could be a refuge for others, too—a place to relax, reflect, and rediscover life. House of Ikigai became a getaway for everyone, a place where one could escape the noise, immerse in nature and reconnect with one’s inner self, a retreat for couples to reconnect purposefully and mindfully, for artists, writers and musicians.
Following the success of Ikigai, our passion for creating spaces that resonate with both the body and the mind led us to build House of Kaizen & HOUSE OF KEMPU.
Named after the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement, Kaizen is a space where creativity flourishes. This unique earthbag structure, crafted from clay and limestone, stands as a testament to sustainable living and our deep connection to the earth.
Kempu, on the other hand, which in the local language means the colour 'Red' is our red-brick haven for silent contemplation and intimate gatherings.
